Pinterest is broken.  It’s not for me. Pinterest doesn’t work for businesses.  It’s only about wedding planning and interiors.

I’ve heard all these things said about Pinterest.  And the thing is, none of them are true.

Yes, Pinterest is partly about weddings and interiors, but that’s FAR from the full story.  In fact, if you use Pinterest for your business in the right way you can actually find your ideal customer very easily.  Or should I say, your ideal customer can find YOU! Because in actual fact Pinterest is not a social media platform at all.  It’s a SEARCH ENGINE!

And if you position yourself on Pinterest in the right way, you can create an account that your dream customer would love to find.  If you don’t? You’re missing out on a HUGE opportunity.  Don’t let that be you!

Why your dream customers are hanging out on Pinterest..

  • Pinterest users are going onto the platform LOOKING for products like yours, not just hanging out on social media.  They’re actually using Pinterest as a search engine…which means they are in a discovery mindset….and in the mood to buy!
  • Most Pinterest users (71%) are women. And there’s been research done to say that women are the ones who decide where money is being spent.  So whether or not your products are targeted at women, it’s likely your audience is on Pinterest.
  • As you’ll probably already know, people are planning interiors and weddings a lot on Pinterest, so if you create interior or wedding related products, you’re onto a winner!
  • High-income households are twice as likely to use Pinterest as low-income households – which means people with money to spend are hanging out on Pinterest.
  • Pinterest is most popular with women—especially Mums – so if your target customer is female, you’re in the right place.
  • Shopping is a top priority for 48% of Pinterest users – this is much higher than other social platforms, where people are often there to socialise.
  • Pins that show a product or service in action are 67% more likely to drive sales. This means model or lifestyle shots go down particularly well on Pinterest.

So there you go. Three great reasons why you need to be on Pinterest.  But I would caution you on one point.  If you think you can go on Pinterest and dabble, and still get results, then you’re wrong.  You need a strategy.

It doesn’t need to be complicated, and it doesn’t need to take you long.  But you HAVE to be consistent for it to work.

However, don’t let that put you off.  The strategy that I use in my own business (that has seen me get thousands of pin views in just a couple of months) only takes me just ONE HOUR A WEEK now that I’ve set everything up. And I’m seeing amazing results.
